Crafted Tap SMS Verification

Crafted Tap uses SMS for account verification and authentication. During account signup or authentication, a user provides a mobile phone number and actively requests a one-time verification code from Crafted Tap.

Before an SMS is sent, the user is shown the SMS disclosure immediately adjacent to the “Send Code and Sign Up” action. The disclosure explains that selecting the button requests a one-time verification SMS from Crafted Tap and provides the applicable message-frequency, message-and-data-rate, STOP, HELP, Terms, and Privacy information. No SMS is sent merely because a mobile number was entered.

Verification walkthrough

1. User reaches the Crafted Tap signup experience

Fans begin enrollment by tapping a Crafted Tap NFC token. Crafted Tap authenticates the token and, if the token has not yet been claimed, opens the enrollment experience. Because enrollment begins with a physical token, the signup flow is not directly accessible from a public website URL.

2. User enters their name and mobile phone number

The user enters the information requested for enrollment, including their name and mobile phone number. Crafted Tap does not send an SMS merely because a mobile number was entered.

3. SMS disclosure appears next to Send Code and Sign Up

Before an SMS is sent, the user is shown the SMS disclosure immediately adjacent to “Send Code and Sign Up.” The disclosure explains that selecting the button requests a one-time verification SMS from Crafted Tap, that message frequency varies based on login and verification requests, that message and data rates may apply, that the user may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, and includes links to Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy.

4. User selects Send Code and Sign Up

The user actively selects “Send Code and Sign Up.” That CTA is the affirmative action that requests the one-time verification SMS. No SMS is sent until the user takes this action.

5. Crafted Tap sends the OTP and the user verifies

Crafted Tap sends a six-digit verification code to the mobile number provided. The user enters the code to verify ownership of the mobile number and authenticate the Crafted Tap account. This flow is used solely for account verification and authentication, not marketing.
